Start with the stoop. Before anything reaches your front door it goes up a run of stone steps, usually with a turn at the top and a railing on both sides that narrows the gap. A sofa that fits through the doorway does not automatically fit up the stoop. We plan for it; just do not be surprised when the crew measures before they lift.
Inside, the staircases are narrow, steep, and turn at the landing. Parlour floors have high ceilings and tall doorways, which helps, but garden apartments often mean going down as well as up, and the door under the stoop is usually the narrowest opening in the building.
The good news is that there are no certificates to chase and no elevators to book. Most of Park Slope is owner-occupied or small-building rental, so the paperwork that dominates a high-rise move simply does not exist here. The whole job is stairs, and stairs are predictable — which is exactly why a guaranteed price works well in this neighbourhood.
Alternate Side Decides Your Start Time
Park Slope is residential, permit-free and almost entirely kerb-parked, which means the truck goes wherever there is legal space on your block. Alternate side street cleaning is the thing that decides how close that is.
Check the cleaning schedule for your specific block — not the general one, the one for your side of your street — before you settle on a start time. On a morning when the kerb has just cleared, the truck lands close. On a morning when it has not, it lands two doors down and every item is carried the extra distance by hand.

No. There is no minimum on any move we do. If it takes two hours, that is what you pay for.
